I enjoyed the book by donna tartt, and saying the movie doesn't do it justice is an understatement. For any fans excited about the adaptation of donna tartt's novel the goldfinch, you're in luck. Theodore theo decker (ansel elgort) was 13 years old when his mother was killed in a bombing at the i loved this movie and i'm surprised at all the low ratings.

It tells the story of theodore, a boy. Which goes a long way toward explaining why the goldfinch doesn't work on screen, or at least not in john crowley's adaptation.
